For a long time, African teenagers have expressed their interest in the field of space and their desire to "fly to space" in the future. We are willing to actively help to fulfill these "African dreams".
From March 1st, a Painting Competition on the theme of "My Dream" will be co-hosted by the Secretariat of Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and China Manned Space Engineering Office. Teenagers in Africa, including Rwanda, are warmly welcomed to participate in by presenting paintings portraying their dreams.
The Chinese and African side will jointly select 10 First Prize, 15 Second Prize and 25 Third Prize among all entries. The winners will be awarded trophies and rewards which will be about 580 US dollars for the First Prize, 360 for the Second Prize and 290 for the Third Prize.
10 winning entries will be carried by China's Shenzhou Spacecraft to the Tiangong Space Station and displayed live on social media platforms to the world.
The Rwanda participants are kindly requested to send the digital scans of the paintings, along with information including titles and brief introduction of the paintings as well as the names and phone numbers of the authors to chinaemb_rw@mfa.gov.cn by March 25th. The size of the painting should not exceed A3 paper(420mm*297mm). Videos or photos taken in the process of painting creation are highly welcomed to be shared for making promotion videos.
