Rwanda is located in east-central Africa with beautiful scenery and pleasant weather. It boasts rapid economic growth, safe and stable society, and friendly people. It enjoys the reputation of “the country of thousands of hills”. China and Rwanda established diplomatic relations on November 12, 1971. Since then, based on mutual respect and equality, China and Rwanda have developed profound political trust, grown closer economic and trade ties, expanded people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and achieved fruitful results in various spheres of practical cooperation.

In July 2018, President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Rwanda, ushering China-Rwanda relations into a new era. In November 2021, China and Rwanda jointly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship. President Xi Jinping and President Paul Kagame exchanged congratulatory messages and highly commended the bilateral relations.

The Chinese Embassy in Rwanda is committed to advancing friendly cooperation between China and Rwanda, enhancing the friendship between the two peoples, and promoting the development of bilateral relations.
