On May 29, Kung Fu Genocide Memorial Tournament 2022 Edition was successfully held in Kigali. WANG Jiaxin, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, representative of the Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee and the president of the Rwanda Kungfu Wushu Federation (RKWF) attended the game.

In his speech, Mr. WANG Jiaxin said that Kungfu is used to "stop the war". It embodies the values and pursuit of peace. Kungfu’s increasing popularity reflects the deepening cultural exchanges between China and Rwanda. He hoped that Kungfu will further enhance the people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

This tournament aims to commemorate the Rwanda Genocide in the form of sports. Hosted by the RKWF, the competition included Taolu and Sanda as major disciplines and attracted 23 clubs and 73 athletes to compete. After the competition, the RKWF also issued a certificate to the Embassy to thank the latter for its support for the development of Kungfu in Rwanda.
