On September 2nd, Mr. Wang Jiaxin, Chinese economic and commercial counselor to Rwanda, was interviewed by Rwandan mainstream media house, Kigali Today, on the so-called “Chinese Debt Trap” issue. In the interview, Counselor WANG refuted the allegation that China’s cooperation with Africa has created a “debt trap” and shared a stance that China-Africa cooperation is not a “trap”, but strong support for the continent’s social and economic development and African people’s well-being.

Referring to Rwanda, Counselor WANG pointed out that, China and Rwanda will further deepen practical cooperation for the benefits of two peoples under the Belt and Road Initiative, and compose a new chapter of friendship that goes beyond thousands of hills and rivers.
