On November 12, the finals of 2023 Rwanda National Kungfu Wushu Championships successfully concluded in Kigali. Nearly a hundred martial arts players from all over the country competed in the two major categories of Taolu and Sanda.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Lin Hang, Deputy Chief of the Mission and Minister-Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, praised the good performances of the contestants and spoke highly of the contribution made by the host Rwanda Kung Fu Wushu Federation (RKWF) and especially its President Marc Uwiragiye, to the promotion of Wushu in Rwanda. Ms. Lin said that this competition coincides with the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Rwanda, and reflects the important role that China-Rwanda sports exchanges play in the development of bilateral relations and the people-to-people bonds between the two countries.
Mr. Marc thanked the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda for its long-term strong support to Wushu competitions and the RKWF. He encouraged the players to continue to improve their skills, buildup their character, and achieve greater breakthroughs in the future.
