Chinese Embassy in Rwanda Renews MoU with Imbuto Foundation

On November 8th, 2022, H.E. WANG Xuekun, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, met with Ms. Sandrine Umtuni, Director General of Imbuto Foundation. The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding, renewing the Embassy’s cooperation with Imbuto Foundation. 

H.E. WANG Xuekun said, through the long-term cooperation with Imbuto Foundation, the Embassy has been providing scholarships to around 100 Rwandan vulnerable students annually. This has yielded to great achievements. Both China and Rwanda value education and the two sides possess many experiences to share in the future. The Embassy looks forward to further working with the Foundation, supporting the development of Rwanda’s youth, and contributing to Rwanda’s education sector.

Ms. Umutoni thanked the Chinese Embassy for its long-term support. She said that “Edified Generation” is an important program initiated by Rwanda’s First Lady Her Excellency Jeannette KAGAME. The contribution by the Embassy helped and inspired many local youths. The Embassy has been an important partner to the Foundation. The Foundation is willing to deepen the cooperation and bring more fruits to bilateral cooperation between two countries.

Launched by Rwanda’s First Lady Her Excellency Jeannette KAGAME, Imbuto Foundation is a non-governmental organization focusing on health, education, and youth empowerment.
