H.E. Wang Xuekun met with Minister Of Finance And Economic Planning of Rwanda

On November 28th, 2022, H.E. WANG Xuekun, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Rwanda, met with Hon. Uzziel NDAGIJIMANA, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning of Rwanda. The two sides exchanged views on China-Rwanda relations and cooperation, and signed relevant cooperation agreements. Wang Jiaxin, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy, and officials from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning of Rwanda attended the meeting.

Ambassador Wang stressed the important meanings and outcomes of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China at the meeting. He said, the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of CPC in October this year was a major event in China's politics and development. Under the leadership of the Chinese President Xi Jinping, China embarks on a new journey to a modern socialist country in all respects. Chinese path to modernization is the modernization of peaceful development, which will make a greater contribution to the peace and development of the world. Focusing on the development of the world, President Xi Jinping proposed the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and announced China’s important measures to implement the GDI. Over the past year, China has achieved promising results in the implementation of the GDI, which also provides opportunities for China-Rwanda cooperation.

Ambassador WANG Xuekun said that in recent years, cooperation between China and Rwanda has been steadily advancing and exchanges between the two sides are increasing. In the future, China will work with Rwanda for deeper practical cooperation in various fields under the Belt and Road Initiative and the framework of the 8th Ministerial Conference of FOCAC to deliver more benefits to the two peoples.

Minister Ndagijimana delivered congratulations on the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of CPC, and extended sincere gratitude to the Chinese Government for its support for the economic and social development of Rwanda. The minister said that the two countries have got good standing cooperation in many areas such as infrastructure, health, agriculture and education, among others, which plays a positive role in overcoming the impact of the pandemic and accelerates the development momentum of Rwanda. Rwanda welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Rwanda and promises to provide a good business environment.
