Ambassador Wang Xuekun pays a courtesy call on Rwandan Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies

On Jan. 10, H.E. Wang Xuekun, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda paid a courtesy call on Rt. Hon. Donatille Mukabalisa, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of Rwanda.

Ambassador Wang said that it was a great honor to be posted in Rwanda. He was deeply impressed by Rwanda’s resilient and fast-growing economy, stable and secure society, also diligent and friendly Rwandan people. At present, the friendly and cooperative relations between two sides continue to develop, with fruitful economic and trade cooperation and increasingly active people-to-people exchanges. Inter-parliamentary exchanges and cooperation between the two countries have also gained momentum in recent years. China and Rwanda are both developing countries and have similar historical experiences. Both countries adhere to a development path that is in line with national conditions, and uphold a people-centered development concept. Both countries firmly safeguard  sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and resolutely oppose interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

The Ambassador briefed the Speaker on the outcomes od the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), saying that under the leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core, China will embark on a new journey to build a modern socialist country at all fronts, and promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on the Chinese path to modernization. China is willing to strengthen the exchanges in governance with Rwanda, enhance mutual support and cooperation, and achieve common development.

Rt. Hon. Ms Mukabalisa introduced the working of Parliament of Rwanda, stressing that the Parliament represents the entire population of the country, rather than the interests of certain group of people. She said that over the past 52 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, China has provided a great deal of assistance to Rwanda in fields like health, education and infrastructure, which has greatly contributed to the economic and social development of Rwanda, also the Rwanda people’s well beings. Rwanda appreciates China’s help. It reflects the brotherhood between the two countries and. Inter-parliamentary cooperation is an important part of the bilateral relations between the two countries. Rwanda is willing to cooperate with China to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation in the field.
