Ambassador Wang Xuekun pays courtesy call on Rwandan Minister of ICT and Innovation

On February 14, H.E. Mr. Wang Xuekun, Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Information Communication Technology and Innovation of Rwanda, Hon. Paula Ingabire.

Ambassador Wang thanked the Minister for addressing the first Global Digital Trade Expo last year. He said that Strengthening information technology cooperation is an important area of China-Africa cooperation marked by the Dakar Action Plan 2022-2024adopted at the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Rwanda focuses on long-term development and is committed to building an innovation center in Africa. The Chinese side is willing to work with Rwanda to deepen ICT cooperation, so that more people can enjoy and benefit from the advances of technology.

Minister Ingabire said that Rwanda and China enjoy long years of fruitful bilateral relations. Rwanda attaches great importance to the development of ICT, and Chinese companies have made remarkable achievements in this field. Rwanda believes that ICT cooperation between the two countries has bright future and stands ready to discuss new cooperation opportunities with China for mutual benefit.

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of common interest.
