CPPCC National Committee Vice Chairperson Zheng Jianbang held a video meeting with Vice Presidents of Senate of Rwanda

Zheng Jianbang, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), held a video meeting in Beijing with Vice Presidents of Senate of Rwanda, Espérance Nyirasafari and Alvera Mukabaramba on June 17th, CPPCC Daily reported on Thursday.

H.E. Zheng said that China and Rwanda bilateral relations have developed smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic ties. President Xi Jinping's successful visit to Rwanda in 2018, opens a new chapter in two country's relations. China is willing to work with African countries including Rwanda to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly promote the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen cooperation on pandemic response, and push for new and greater development of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Africa. National Committee of CPPCC is willing to work closely with the Senate of Rwanda to help translate the traditional friendship between China and Rwanda into more fruits that benefit both the countries and people.

Hon. Espérance Nyirasafari and Hon. Alvera Mukabaramba expressed their congratulations to the centenary of the Communist Party of China. They said that Rwanda is willing to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and strengthen pragmatic cooperation with China in various fields. Senate of Rwanda looks forward to further intensifying exchanges with the CPPCC, so as to push for new development in bilateral relations.

Mr. Guo Jun, vice secretary-general of the National Committee of CPPCC, and Liu Lihua, vice director of the Economic Committee of the CPPCC also attended the video meeting.
