Chinese Embassy Hands over Medical Supplies to Rwandan Senate

On July 23rd, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China hands over a batch of medical supplies to the Senate of the Republic of Rwanda. Mr. Wang Jiaxin, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy, and Mr. Sosthene Cyitatire, Clerk at the Senate, attend the handover function.

The medical supplies are donated by the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr Wang says on the occasion. The delegation of the National Committee of CPPCC, headed by its Vice Chairperson His Excellency Mr. Zheng Jianbang, visited Rwanda in April, 2019 and held fruitful consultations with the Rwandan Parliament. Ever since the first confirmed case in Rwanda, the delegates followed up closely with the development and were very keen to contribute to its fight against the pandemic.

Mr. Cyitatire appreciates the assistance and support from China since the outbreak of Covid-19. "Rwanda and China are brothers, and we have frequent inter-parliamentary exchanges" he says while calling for solidarity and collaboration for international community to win the battle against the virus.
