On January 8, Ambassador GaoWenqi called onHon. Christophe Bazivamo, Secretary General of RPF. Present at the meeting were Ms. Lin Hang, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy, Mr. Stephen Gasana Karasanyi, Deputy Secretary-General of RPF, and Protais Musoni, Senior Advisor to the Secretary-General of RPF, among others.

Ambassador Gao conveyed greetings from Minister Liu Haixing of the International Department of Central Committee, Communist Party of China, extended congratulations on the success of RPF’s 17thNational Congress, and expressed best wishes on Hon. Bazivamo’s assumption of office. Ambassador Gao noted that the governance philosophies of the two parties are highly compatible. Under the strategic guidance of H.E. Xi Jinping and H.E. Paul Kagame, exchanges and cooperation between CPC and RPF have continuously deepened and yielded fruitful results. China stands ready to work with the Rwandan side to advance CPC-RPF and China-Rwanda friendly relations to a higher level.

Hon. Bazivamo noted that Rwanda appreciates China's long-standing support for its economic and social development and stands ready to work together with China to deepen CPC-RPF exchanges and cooperation, boost the growth of bilateral relations, and bring about greater benefits to the two peoples. He also reiterated Rwanda’s support for the four global initiatives, reaffirmed Rwanda’s firm adherence to the one-China principle.
