On May 5, Ambassador Gao Wenqi met with Mr. Hannington Namara, Managing Director of Equity Bank, exchanging views on financial cooperation and related matters. Ms. Loyce K. Bamwine, Equity Foundation ES, was also present at the meeting.

Ambassador Gao stated that China-Rwanda relations are at their best in history, with great potential exists for further financial cooperation. Equity Bank holds strong influence in Rwanda, East Africa, and across the African continent. The bank could continue providing financing support to Chinese enterprises in Rwanda, empowering the quality and upgrading of practical cooperation between China and Rwanda.

Mr. Namara stated that Equity Bank maintains strong cooperative relationships with many Chinese enterprises and banks, the bank will leverage its strengths to help achieve new breakthroughs in Rwanda-China financial cooperation.
