On May 6, Ambassador Gao Wenqi attended Continental Health Workforce Strengthening and Harmonization of Regional Nursing and Midwifery Curricula Engagement for the Global South Community organized by African Union Development Agency - New Partnership for Africa's Development (AUDA-NEPAD) in Kigali. The event brought together over 100 participants, including AUDA-NEPAD representatives, Rwandan government officials, Ambassadors from Global South countries accredited to Rwanda, and health-care professionals.

Ambassador Gao introduced China's Four Global Initiatives, the principle of "Sincerity, Real Results, Affinity and Good Faith", the Ten Major Partner Actions, and China's zero-tariff measures. He commended the achievements of South-South cooperation, and the remarkable achievements of the Chinese medical team in fostering China-Rwanda health collaboration. He expressed China's readiness to work hand in hand with African partners to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit, strengthening pragmatic cooperation in multiple fields and jointly building an All-Weather China-Africa Community with a Shared Future for the New Era.

Representatives from various parties expressed appreciation for China's support to Africa in areas such as health-care, infrastructure, industrialization, and agricultural modernization. They voiced hope to bolster cooperation with China and elevate Africa-China relations to a new level.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Gao Wenqi exchanged with representatives of AUDA-NEPAD.
